When I first watched Veronica Guerin, I felt like some of the details of the story had to have been added to make it more interesting. But, in reality, most of the details were actually pretty accurate. And some of the ones that were changed, were changed in order to make the movie more believable for the audience.
It's hard to know if everything we researched is true because of how biased people were about Veronica, her work, and her death. The Irish wanted so badly for her to be viewed as a hero that they refused to see her any other way and Americans either have no knowledge of who she even is, or they see her as the movie shows her- a hero. Overall, I think that Veronica is a very brave, strong journalist who made some important contributions to her society.
