For our final project we chose to analyze the movie, Veronica Guerin. A 2003 Jerry Bruckheimer production about the events leading up to the 1996 murder of Irish investigatory journalist Veronica Guerin. Choosing a film about a person none of us knew or had ever heard anything about, was both difficult and ideal for us. We didn’t want to bring any bias to the table that would affect our researching.



In our blog we begin by analyzing the history of crime in Ireland, Veronica Guerin, and the film itself.  We then show how the film stood up to reality, how real and accurate is the movie? Of course we couldn’t have done all this breaking-down and analyzing without knowing how the film uses the media effects theories and how the theories play into the way the media portrays people and events.  A huge part of this project was discovering the different frames and ideologies that we found in this film.  Finally we take you through our conclusion, opinions, extras and sources of our entire project.
